About

Climate change is the topic of the public exhibition MATCHBOX ART, initiated by the Ben Ami Gallery and the International Artists’ Museum as part of the Markers Project honoring the Venice Biennale. Each artist created a work on paper, folded it and placed it in a match box. The works are meant to be shown in museums, galleries, hotels, cultural institutions, pubs, stores and artists’ workshops. Each work will be photographed in situ and the documentation – uploaded to the exhibition’s website.

The Markers Project was inaugurated in Venice in 2001 by the Artists’ Museum (an independent artist organization and museum without walls) and was officially opened at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum. Since then, Markers has organized projects with the participation of over 600 artists from across the globe. The exhibitions have been shown in churches, museums, galleries, airports, train stations, along streets and along the main canal in Venice.
